Marmosets (Penicillata)

This black tufted marmoset can be found in the forests of the brazilian central plateau. Being both diurnal and arboreal is similar to most other marmosets. Their diet consists mostly of tree saps, but it will also eat fruit and vegetables. They live in groups of 2-14 at a time reaching an average size of about 19-22cm. Marmosets use a variety of facial expressions and sounds to communicate with each other. Their average lifespan is about 5-7 years.
